We're not normally (ever) ones to seek out churches, vacation or not. Yet we'd heard enough about the Basilica church in Quito to capture our interest! So once back in Quito we stopped by for a couple of hours to check it out. Amazing building, very cool gargoyles (animals native to Ecuador instead of traditional type).

Inside part of it, on first floor.

Looking down from up above
View from the top

Crossing from one section to another, way up high, and not the most stable bridge!
Clock towers, from over on the other side of where the walk up to the top started.

The very cool gargoyles! I want some!!

That bridge between looked scary, but what a beautiful cathedral!
